Q
Will you handle all building permits or utility (Mss Utility) notifications?
By law, any contractor must “call before you dig”. So, Classic Stonescaping handles all Miss Utility marking before your project starts. We will also secure any and all necessary building permits when required.

Q
How do you schedule project installations?
All projects are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis; as soon as we receive your signed contract with deposit. Once we begin your project, we are there until completion. Any weather related delays during your job extends the proposed completion date accordingly, and all other projects on the schedule after yours are moved along the schedule as well. We never leave your job to go start another one!

Q
How long will it take to complete my project?
Most residential jobs can be completed in only a few days. Jeff will provide you with a timeline before the project starts.

Q
Is there a difference in using stamped concrete, pavers, or natural stone?
Many of the most common landscape components are “hardscape” features: driveways, walkways, retaining walls, patios and pools. While there are those who advocate for stamped concrete as a lower-cost alternative to brick or stone, it has many disadvantages in the long term. We prefer to use natural stone whenever possible, but we also have extensive experience working with pavers.

Q
What is your style?
Your landscape is an extension of your home and of you, the homeowner. Therefore, we believe that the style of any outdoor project should ultimately draw on the architecture of your home and the lifestyle of the people who live there. We spend time getting to know our clients and understanding their preferences and their needs. Then, we work to add value through innovative solutions and creative design elements.
Q
Who will manage my project?
Your designer is the lead on all installation. Working closely with the installation team on the job your designer will address any questions you might have and address any potential changes or requests.

Q
Do you install your own work or do you hire subcontractors?
We install all of our own work in the areas of “hardscape” (driveways, walkways, patios, retaining walls) and “softscape” (gardens & flower beds, shrubs & trees, ponds & water features). This achieves consistent quality and continuity of style throughout your project. We do sub-contract work to electricians (for outdoor lighting, music, etc.) and irrigation system installers and Contractors (for Pergolas and Decks). In each case, we use trusted professionals with whom we have had prior experience.

Q
Do you provide lawn maintenance and/or snow removal?
No, our focus is on professional Design and Installation services.
Q
What sized properties do you work with?
We have conceived and installed designs from small front walkways and poolside patios to a comprehensive site plan for over an acre of backyard gardens.
Q
Are you able to provide me with a green landscape that is low maintenance?
Yes. Depending on the level of maintenance that you wish to have, we will create a custom project for you that caters to your needs.
Q
Does Classic Stonescaping use day laborers?
Absolutely not. We take great pride in our loyal staff. All our employees at your home are on Classic Stonescaping’s payroll and are legally authorized to work in the United States.
Q
How much do your services cost?
Projects vary in cost based upon the complexity, size of the plan and the materials needed to complete the project. Our initial consultation and site assessment is free. We’ll sit down with you, listen to your goals and ideas, and discuss possibilities for making the most of your property. With your approval, a designer will then create a custom site plan for your project. This plan may include sketches of recommended features, and if appropriate, plant selections.

Q
May I see your actual projects or contact references?
Yes. We encourage you to contact our references.

Q
Is Classic Stonescaping licensed and insured?
Yes. Classic Stonescaping holds a Commonwealth Of Virginia Class A builders license, and is fully insured. We’re happy to provide verification of such documentation upon request.
Q
How are payments handled?
Once a proposal or estimate has been agreed upon, we create a contract. The contract will show the required deposit payment, and when progress payments are due. Final payment is rendered upon a successful completion of the proposed work. We can accept Check or Cash for payment.
